TITLE: New fossil primates from the Uintan (Eocene) of southern California
AUTHOR: Mark A. Mason
JOURNAL: PaleoBios
NOTES: no. 49
ABSTRACT: Two primate taxa are added to the Uintan mammalian fauna of the Sespe Formation, Ventura County, California. A single tooth is referred to Phenacolemur sp. cf. P. shifrae Krishtalka and constitutes the first report of the Paromomyidae from the Pacific Coast. Seven other specimens comprise the hypodigm for a new omomyid, Yaquius travisi genus et species novum. The latter has affinities with Macrotarsius Clark. Three fossil primates previously reported from the Uintan of San Diego, California are referred to Ourayia Gazin.
